Soc. 495, Undergraduate Supervised Teaching, is an opportunity to gain teaching experience by serving as a teaching assistant for a Sociology course. Undergraduate teaching assistants (UTAs) will gain practice in creating, implementing, and assessing learning activities; demonstrate responsibility and leadership in a pedagogical context; receive mentorship from an experienced educator (the supervising faculty member); and, in courses with multiple UTAs, work in a collaborate environment with other undergraduate TAs. Enrollment in the course is subject to prerequisites and requires permission of the supervising faculty member.
