This course will focus on composition in professional genres related to the field of business. The goal of MGG 303 is to help students build a strong foundation in a range of communication skills, and to improve how they write, speak, operate, and conduct themselves in the workplace. Students will also learn techniques for communicating and adapting to audiences in the workplace.
Lectures can get boring at times, but the material is pretty common sense.
This is a projects-based course with four major projects spread throughout the semester, no exams. Two of the projects are with a group, so if you don't get a good group... good luck. There's also an asynchronous component that involves taking online quizzes on "business communication" that have largely subjective answers, though they're multiple choice. Overall, this felt less like an instructional class than it did a skills qualification course. You're not learning new skills, but honing (hopefully) existing ones.
