This course provides an overview of industry practices aligned with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK®). It introduces key concepts essential for investment professionals, including ethics and compliance, time value of money, macroeconomics, fixed income and equity valuation, derivatives, capital budgeting, portfolio management, and alternative investments. Emphasis is placed on linking financial theory to real-world practice through discussion of current market trends and events. Students will develop analytical and decision-making skills relevant to careers as securities analysts, portfolio managers, and investment advisors. While the course content supports preparation for the CFA® Level I examination and other professional licensing exams, exam participation is not required. The course provides a foundational understanding of the CFA® framework but does not cover the complete CFA® Level I Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK®).
