This course aims to provide undergraduate students with basic understanding of the principles, concepts and tools involved in the construction of semantic analyses of natural language. It investigates the empirical linguistic issues of predicates, modifiers, reference, quantifiers, intensionality, tense, aspect, modality, propositional attitudes, presuppositions, implicatures, topic, focus, and indexicals.
