The ENS 493 /ENS 494 sequence provides students the opportunity to solve a design problem through a formal process of design as part of project team. This (3) credit course is the second in a two-course culminating design project experience. The course will introduce students to the process of design as it is ideally conducted in various industries and disciplines. This second course in the sequence will focus on the ?convergent? phases of design: preliminary design, detailed design, and production engineering. Students will also be introduced to regulatory standards that influence design decisions through rules on safety, quality, validation, and verification.
