ENG 289LR—Introduction to Shakespeare: Later Works

This course surveys Shakespeare’s later works. It concentrates on plays and poems written after 1599-1600, with a special focus on tragedy (*Othello*, *King Lear*, and *Macbeth*) and romance (*The Winter’s Tale*, *The Tempest*, and *Pericles*). ENG289 offers an excellent introduction to literary studies in general, and advanced 300- and 400-level courses in Shakespeare and other early literature.
