Includes a study of soils and paving materials, their interaction, their behavior under various loading conditions, and their ability to perform under all ambient loading conditions. Topics include surface, base, subbase and base courses: bituminous materials, quality control, and flexible and rigid pavement design methods. Laboratory sessions on asphaltic concrete mix design.
