This course is designed as a general introduction to organismal biology: what happens at the level of the organism and above. Students will learn how evolution works, what organisms evolution has created, and how those organisms interact with the environment and each other. These three topics comprise the three sections of the course material: evolution, diversity, and ecology. Students will gain a general facility with the major topics of each of these fields to prepare them for future courses in the biology department and related fields.
Come prepared to pay attention and take good notes. It's a LOT of info in little time.
Tips for success
Consistently study at least a little everyday.
This class isn’t too bad, you get to use a cheat sheet during the exams which makes it a lot easier. If you’re taking it with Poulin, just know that she goes extremely fast during lectures, so try to keep up!
Tips for success
I personally watched every lecture back before the exams and jotted down notes as I went through them. The active recall method helped a lot with this course, and DONT skimp out on your cheat sheet, be very thorough.
